Introducing

This blog is a virtual showroom which allows me to present my Air Sculptures. In order to give you a better idea of this concept, you'll find here pictures of the global sculpture, with some close up pictures on one side and a video on the other, which is the only device that can truly reflect the movement of the sculpture, essential part of this artwork.

These mobiles are magical, they are designed so that the lightest draft puts them in movement. Even if the sculptures are put up in a closed space, you will see them livening up, as I tried to provide them as much as possible some sort of breath of life. My experience and adjustments skills of the very fine balances make it possible to obtain these effects which will offer you long moments of pondering and stimulate your curiosity.

They are made of plastic resin, colored polymer clay of various brands that harden in the cooking. Every part, both light and resistant - varying slightly in terms of weight  - is realised by hand. They are then patiently assembled in an air composition which will depend on the size, on the weight of each piece and on the global harmony of the set and the desired effects. For these reasons every mobile is a unique artwork, that has been through various stages of creation. Difficult to estimate the time spent, but the realization of a sculpture requires 10 to sometimes 40 hours.

The dimensions for every mobile are indicated on this blog and vary from 50 cms to 1m 50 of height. Width and depth are always the same, as the mobile turns around itself and its center of gravity.

The manipulation of an air sculpture requires precaution, every mobile therefore comes with a custom-made box for easy storage and safe transport. As soon as the sculpture is fixed at the ceiling or on a girder, it will find its initial shape and will evolve in space with harmony.

To create sculptures in volume and to challenge at the same time the laws of the gravity, this was exactly my initial motivation which lead me to this artistic adventure that I have been following for nearly 10 years. I hope that you will have as much pleasure to discover them that I had to imagine them and to create them.
